Welcome!

My name is Li-Wei Hung. I am a night skies research scientist at the Natural Sounds and Night Skies Division of the National Park Service. I do research on light pollution and provide science support to parks for protecting natural dark skies. During my free time, I like hiking, camping, biking, and cooking.

I received my Ph.D. degree in astronomy from University of California, Los Angeles in 2016. During my graduate study, I was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. I worked with Prof. Michael Fitzgerald to study debris disks. I received my B.S. degree in Physics and Astronomy from the Ohio State University in 2011 and graduated summa cum laude and with honors research distinction.
