Welcome! I'm a graduate student at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Physics and Astronomy Department.
I love studying the universe - particularly about new techniques that enable a deeper and more detailed study of
the universe.
I am currently working with Professor Michael Fitzgerald
on the use of Photonic Lanterns for coherent imaging and spectroastrometry.
I grew up in South Korea before coming to UCLA. I earned my bachelor's and master's degree at
Seoul National University (SNU).
I worked with Professor Myung Gyoon Lee
on extragalactic astronomy during my master's, particularly on methods for measuring distances to galaxies in the Local Volume
(Tip of the Red Giant Branch; TRGB and Surface Brightness Fluctuations; SBF) and on near-field cosmology.
I also worked with Professor Jongchul Chae
on solar flares for my bachelor's project.
Outside of research, I love spending time in the nature and painting.
