The image on the right was taken by a big tracking camera when MAP was
many miles downrange. This image and more information can be
found on the
mission status page.
It is possible to "see" MAP in the night sky - which is to say that with
a moderate size telescope and a CCD camera you can take
pictures of it.
When MAP reaches the L2 point about 3 months after launch it will be
much fainter than it is now.
