Research Interests:

I'm currently working with Prof. Andrea Ghez on star formation and evolution using high spatial and spectral resolution techniques. In particular, I use Keck Observatory's adaptive optics system to monitor the orbital motion of very low mass binary stars and binary brown dwarfs in an effort to determine their masses dynamically. These mass measurements are used to calibrate models that predict masses of low mass objects based on their temperatures and luminosities. In addition, I investigate the multiplicity of very low mass objects at young ages using the high resolution capabilities of the Keck telescopes. For more information, please see: As an undergraduate, I worked with Dr. Bruce Macintosh at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory on searching for planets and brown dwarfs around nearby young stars using adaptive optics at Keck.
