On February 8th, 2014, we visited Arlington Heights Elementary School in Koreatown. We started out by showing the students how to make their own comet in a bucket using ingredients that can be found in the supermarket! The students learned about the origin and composition of comets, and were even able to touch one for themselves! We then turned our attention to rockets. The students learned the basics of aerodynamics, and Newton's Laws (for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction!). The students even got to participate in a rocket launch! Thanks for having us, Arlington Heights! Hope to see you again soon!
