Research Interests
I currently work in the VERITAS group studying very high energy gamma-rays with the Atmospheric Cherenkov Technique. When it is completed, VERITAS will be an array of four optical telescopes capable of stereoscopically imaging the Cherenkov light showers produced by high energy gamma-ray primaries as they enter the earth's upper atmosphere. The energy regime of interest for air cherenkov telescopes such as VERITAS is roughly 100 GeV to 10 TeV. Since joining VERITAS, I have primarily been involved with two projects: the Level 3 (L3) array trigger system with Prof. Rene Ong and Dr. Amanda Weinstein and a search for supersymmetric self-annihilating dark matter with Prof. Vladimir Vassiliev and Dr. Stephen Fegan.
