The Hubble Space Telescope
Today's progress in astronomy and science in general is driven by (at least) two factors. The first is technological: the last few decades has witnessed an explosion in the construction of new astronomical observatories, both in space and on the ground. These new tools allow much more detailed study of the Universe than ever was possible. The Hubble Space Telescope is the premiere example of modern astronomical instrumentation, so we will review in this section some of its recent and spectacular results.
