Astronomers sent a radio signal from the Aercibo Observatory to M 13, a globular cluster at a distance of 26,000 light years. Apart from the distance, why is M 13 a poor choice of targets if we are trying to inform carbon-based, intelligent organisms like ourselves of our existence?
