Readings for first midterm (Wednesday, April 25):

The following is a maximal list. There may be a last minute refinement (shortening) depending on how far we get in lecture through Friday, April 20. Any refinements will be announced on Monday, April 23 and perhaps also on the 20th.

G&O chapters 1 through 8; pp. 253-259.

Z&H chapters 13, 15, and 20.

Writing out answers to some of the following questions in G&O would probably be one useful way to study for the midterm. This is meant to give you a flavor of the style of questions you might see on the midterm. The questions will be short answers and will be based partially on lecture material and partially on readings in the books.

chapter: 2 questions: 7,9

3 2

4 1,2,6

5 1,3,5,7

6 1,4,5

7 2,4,5,6

8 1,2,5,6,7,8,10

Amy Lo will lead a discussion/review during class on Monday, April 23.
