Current Night Sky over Los Angeles
Here is a non-complete list of what to look for in the
night sky over L.A. besides the usual swarms of airplanes
flying overhead:
- GSOC (German Space Operations
Center)-- where and when to see the International Space Station (ISS); 'flares' from the Iridium satellite network.

- Griffith Observatory's Sky
Info. page -- Includes almanac info. (moon/sun rise/set, tides); upcoming
eclipses and meteor showers; planetary locations and alignments.
- Mount Wilson's Build
Your Own Sky Map page -- Just enter the date, time of day/night, and
chose 'Mt. Wilson/L.A.' under location. For the light pollution
level of L.A., chose a magnitude limit of about +1 or +2.
