Q: How can I access files on Windows systems while using a Macintosh?

Use Dave from Thursby Software Systems, which is available on ALBIREO and ORANGE. (You will need a Microsoft Windows Network account for remote authentication.)

You can buy this software for your own Macintosh at the UCLA Store (price may vary slightly with time; was $139 last time we checked).

However, it is believed that this software is no longer necessary under MacOS 10...

An alternative is to use FTP from the Windows system to a UNIX system, and then FTP (``fetch'') from the Macintosh to the UNIX system. (Make sure you use binary mode for the transfers...)
