Note the shadow of the 150-Foot Solar Tower dome in the trees and its attendant heiligenschein around the dome shadow. This brighter region surrounding the shadow is from direct back reflection from leaves and needles that are normal to the antisolar direction. It is most often seen around the shadow of your head (and only your own head) in the morning dew on a lawn. |
